American Bamboo Society
2009 Annual Meeting

Bamboo is a grass that grows food and wood faster than trees!

Like a meadow it can be harvested year after year without replanting.

Join bamboo lovers from around the world and learn about bamboo as a crop, horticultural gem and collectors’ treasure.

The American Bamboo Society (ABS) was formed in 1979 and became incorporated in the state of California in 1981. Today we have over 1,300 members living throughout the U.S. and in 39 other countries. The ABS issues a bimonthly magazine, BAMBOO, and the Journal of the American Bamboo Society.
